CHIT CHAT #2

So I'm back to university now with only nine days until I hand in my last assignment - first year has gone so quickly! I'm knuckling down this next week and a bit to make sure all of my work is perfect, seeing as Im paying so much money for this degree! Posts may be a bit slow while I finish up things, but I can't wait to have summer off so I can upload loads and get really into blogging as I love it so much!

I hope you all had a lovely easter and a good break from school/college/uni/work and good luck to those of you taking exams and handing in work soon!

OOTD: LAZY DAY

Jumper: H&M | Jeans: Topshop | Creepers: Underground

You may have seen that I have worn this jumper in a previous outfit post (here), but I can't stop wearing it as it's the most comfiest thing ever! Super soft - perfect for a lazy day like I've had today. I paired it with my Topshop Joni Jeans as they are stretchy and easy to lounge around in. Off to the post office now to post some jewellery orders I've had, then coming back to get into bed and finish writing my essay.
Check out my etsy store: HerSmallTreasures

What are you up too today? I'm sure its a lot more entertaining than essay writing!

PASTEL WISHLIST

I was putting together a fashion wish list without realising everything I was adding to it was of a pastel shade! I've always loved pastel colours as they're so easy to incorporate into a girly look, a grungy one, a boho one and so on - the opportunities are endless! As its Spring/Summer now its no shock that all the shops are full of pastel items as its kind of the go-to trend each year.

I have a few weddings coming up in the summer and the Zara heels would go so nicely with outfits that I have planned (I will add them to the blog nearer the time!) and the yellow co-ord is just perfection, the cut and shape of it looks so nice on the model!

What do you think of the pastel trend?

NEW BUYS: H&M HAUL

(Clockwise) £9.99 | £19.99 | £9.99 | £5.99

I thought I would share the new items I picked up in H&M recently. I felt that I had way too many trousers, playsuits, etc. but not enough dresses and girly pieces of clothing in my wardrobe, so I went on a hunt around town for some cute items to add to my wardrobe and came back with only H&M purchases!

The two dresses on the left and the right in the top image are both the same style just different patterns (both daisy prints of course!) They are perfect for layering underneath and onto with long shirts and jumpers or on their own when the sun decides to come out for good.
I saw the white crotchet dress and immediately needed it! It isn't the normal waistline on a dress that I go for, however it is just as flattering I think and will be perfect for my holiday this summer!
Lastly the skirt I saw on my way to the checkout and thought it was dead cute, the material is quite light and you won't stand much chance of keeping it down if theres windy weather however the floral print is perfect for spring and again for layering with jumpers/tights/etc. I think it will be worn just as much when winter comes along.

What do you think of H&M's new summer items?

MY 5 GO-TO SPRING NAIL COLOURS

Following my recent post 'MY 5 GO-TO SPRING LIP COLOURS' I thought I would share with you My 5 Go-To Nail Colours that I have been using now that it's springtime.
(From left to right)
Rimmel Lycra Pro '312 Ultra Violet'
NYC in a minute nails '294 Lexington Yellow'
Topshop Nails - I've lost the name of this colour but I am sure there are similar ones available!
Barry M Nail Paint 'Strawberry Ice Cream'
Sinful Colours '952 Hazard'
Barry M Nail Paint 'Mint Green'

The pictures have come out a lot darker than I had hoped, as the nail colours look a lot lighter and pastel-like in reality. However, besides that I love changing up my nails colours for each season to accessorise my outfits. I think springtime is the season that you can really go wild with nail colours and nail art, as its a bright, cheery, floral time!

What colours have you been using this Spring?

OOTD: CREAM & BLACK

Jumper: H&M | Shorts: H&M | Bag: Primark | Socks: Primark | Dr Martens: The Doc Shop | Rings: Accessorize

Its that annoying part of the year in England where its too warm to wrap up but still too cold to go out in next to nothing. I managed to find a medium by layering an oversized jumper over some shorts with long socks so I'm still snug as a bug but cool as a cucumber! Its such a casual yet grunge-y look, thanks to the docs, which is my favourite kind of vibe to go for. I recently got my hair cut a lot shorter than I have had for years and Im really liking how a top knot works with the length of my hair now, and its super quick to do which saves me time in the mornings rather than taming long locks all the time!

TREND: TROPICALS

All I'm seeing in stores, magazine, online is topical prints - some are beautiful, some tacky, but hey! Here I've put together a few items that I have seen and absolutely love that have tropical patterns or have a tropical vibe. Styling a few printed items with some plain staple pieces works well to get that balance between being well dressed and looking like you got dressed in the dark. For example styling the tropical crop top above with some white skinny jeans and a denim shirt for a casual look or loose the shirt and add some platforms for a dressier occasion.

What do you think of the tropical trend?

CHIT CHAT #1

I think I may have consumed a tad too much alcohol this Easter Bank Holiday, resulting in a major lazy/pyjama day and leaving me feeling very sorry for myself! After tidying the whole house, eating lots of chocolate and being a couch potato, I am starting to feel a little more alive and am currently writing up some new blogposts for the week ahead - I can't wait to share them with you!

I hope you all had an amazing Easter, had fun with family/friends and got lots of yummy chocolates!

NEW BUY: BLOCK GLADIATORS

Shoes: River Island | Socks: Primark

I bought these sandals around February time after I had seen a few people in them last summer, so I had to pick them up ASAP before stocks run out as per usual around summertime. I had forgotten about them until recently my friend also purchased a pair  and I realised I had to dig them out and share them with the world! I am a massive fan of beautiful ugly shoes and these definitely fall in that category (I think so anyway!)

They cost me £40 (here) from River Island, however I know that New Look have started selling them for around £20 and they are practically exactly the same. They are super comfy, however they have annoyingly started to squeak every time I walk in them which is slightly weird and embarrassing when around town haha!

If you know me you will know that I have a weird thing about toes and will hardly ever get mine out in front of people, hence why I choose to wear pretty frilly socks with these shoes to make them look even cuter - with them being black means I can style them with almost any colour sock/tight I which!

Whats your opinion on beautiful ugly shoes? Have you got any similar?

OOTD: RED DAISIES

Dress: Primark | Jumper: Primark | Converse: Schuh | Bag: Primark | Necklace: HerSmallTreasures
Watch: Casio

Just realised I'm a bit of a Primark Queen in this outfit -my bad! Anyway, it's quite a cheap and cheerful look for a sunny day in town. A day in the shops it is, hence why I went for a loose fitted dress/jumper combo - not something I tend to go for usually as I love my clothes to be fitted or give me some shape normally.  I finished it off with converse for a laid back and casual vibe and they're also SO comfy.

What have you been up to in the sunshine lately?

HOW I WEAR: CLEATED HEELS

Cleated Heels: Ebay (here)
Please excuse my knobbly knees & really awkward poses haha!
(From left to right)
Outfit one:
Choker necklace: Ebay
Oversized Tshirt Dress: Primark

Outfit two:
Choker Necklace: HerSmallTreasures (here)
Top: H&M
Shirt: Vintage Market
Jeans: Topshop (sale)

Outfit three:
Necklace: Topshop (sale)
Top: Zara (sale)
Dress: Topshop
Belt: Charity Shop

As these cleated heels are about 6 inches high, I don't wear them on a day-to-day basis, however on a night out, they are my best friend!  These are outfits that I would wear on a night out on the town - despite how high they are, they are surprisingly comfy and don't hurt my feet because of the platform sole. I do however have to wear ankle socks with them as my ankles are quite skinny and look like twigs without them, but it all adds to the look I suppose!  Totally worth the buy, as they can give even the girliest outfit a grunge vibe which is right up my street!

NEW BUY: THE BUBBLE BAG

Bag: Ebay

I remember having a bubble bag when I was a toddler, but I think I love them even more now. I came across a picture on Instagram of someone with one and that was it, my love was rekindled and I knew I had to find one for myself. Turns out there are tonnes available on Ebay, majority under a fiver, I picked this one up from here, for only £4.45!

Its a lot bigger than I expected which is an added bonus as I always over organise and fill up my bags so quickly. As you may have guessed, I love a daisy print on anything so thesis perfect for me! It arrived deflated and I had to blow air into it myself through the 3 blowholes in the bag which was all pretty simple and worth it. I don't think I will use it if I am going to london or anywhere overly busy as it would be easy to pop or steal from, but for a trip to the beach or a lighthearted day out I can't wait to use it!

Did you have a bubble bag when you were younger?

JELLY SHOES: YAY OR NAY?

Shoes: Lamoda | Socks: Primark

If I asked how many of you reading this had a pair of jelly shoes when you were younger, majority of you would have! I don't know about you but I love them and was more than thrilled when they found their way back into stores and onto our feet. I picked up this lilac purple pair from LaModa for £9.99 - a more acceptable price to the JuJu jellies in my opinion! They're so smooth and soft on your feet and work well with and without socks. Perfect holiday footwear to throw on for the beach, around the pool or sightseeing.

Here are some other jelly shoes that I have found that you might like:

MY 5 GO-TO SPRING LIP COLOURS

Now that Spring/Summer is finally on its way and were getting a little bit more sunshine in our lives, I thought I would share my go-to lip colours that are perfect for Spring. I've gathered my top five to show you and hopefully inspire your lip collection!

MAC 'Up the Amp'
An opaque purple coverage, that moisturises the lips yet still has a formula similar to a matte lipstick. Great for transforming a grunge/vamp look to give a summery edge. I received this as a Christmas gift and it has become one of my favourite lip colours as it matches almost any outfit I wear and is just so easy to apply and pull off.
Lasting Finish Matte By Kate '110'
A great alternative colour to the traditional red lipstick! With a slight orange/coral tone it is definitely a colour I will be donning a lot this summer as it gives a cool retro effect to the makeup look. To be honest, I prefer this colour to a traditional red lip as it is a lot less harsh and adds a subtle soft touch to the lips.
Topshop Lipstick Crayon 'Hedonist'
I purchased this  last summer after seeing a few people around London rocking an orange lip. I had wanted to purchase MAC 'Morange' however I have found this to be a great buy never the less! It is a matte formula that can be drying on the lips sometimes, however it can be sorted out right away with a bit of Carmex. The crayon aspect of the product is great as I find application a lot easier as it is just like colouring in!
Maybelline New York ColorSensational '902 Fuchsia Flash'
An amazing dupe to MAC Candy Yum Yum! It's really moisturising on the lips and works as a lip stain as well for maximum staying power. I love wearing this with a 'not-so-colourful' outfit as it adds that little extra to save you from looking so glum!
Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream 'Cotton Candy 1'
A moisturising lip cream with a matte finish. I feel a bit weird if I leave the house without anything on my lips, so a nude lip is essential for those kind of days. This product is so soft on the lips and I don't find it dries them out that much either which is a bonus!

What are your go-to lip colours for this season?

BEAUTY WISHLIST #1

I just thought I'd share a few beauty bits and bobs that I have on my wish list at the moment; there aren't a large number of items but never the less, something is better than nothing aye'!

I have been lusting over this Illamasqua lipstick in shade 'Apocalips' since I received the shade 'ESP' for my birthday last year! I love the wacky colours that Illamasqua create and would love to try them all out. I think this teal shade would look great in the summer with various outfits to give that extra quirkiness. I also want to purchase a loose powder from Illamasqua as I have been using it within my makeup classes at university for photoshoot looks and it works so well to take away the shine on your face and create a matte look without making your face look 'too cake' if you get what I mean!

I fill my brows in with my Sleek brow palette on a day-to-day basis and then set them with a clear mascara which I must say does the trick, however I really want to try out the Benefit 'Gimme Brow gel' as I want to gain more knowledge on various products out there.

I have been using BB cream as a base for my foundation for a few years now and I feel as though my routine has become a bit too repetitive and I want to change this! I was testing out various foundation in my local boots and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation felt so smooth and easy to apply on my skin so this will be a definite purchase in the near future!

Over the past year I have ventured out into the world of eyeshadows and gone further than a winged liner and some mascara, so I want some brushes to help me. I have some other Real Techniques brushes and I love them so much I want to expand my collection!

What's on your beauty wishlist?

THE SANDAL EDIT

With summer around the corner, and all the variations of beautiful sandals in stores, who wouldn't be lusting over them!? I've put together a few of my favourite sandals from high street stores that I would love to get my hands on this season.

As you can see, I love a platform shoe with a cleated sole! I think its the perfect combination of a girly/grunge look which works so well. They're also so versatile and can  be worn with virtually any outfit, from a dress to some skinnies or with some frilly socks or barefoot. My favourites are the New Look black chunky sandals, similar to Birkenstocks but at a fraction of the price!

Also, I'm really into jelly shoes at the minute as they are just so simple to chuck on with some jeans or dress for a casual look and it also takes me back to when I was a little girl and would always wear them, how cute are these ones from River Island?

The Topshop peep toe sandals have a parisian look about them don't you think? How amazing would they look with blue jeans and an oversized stripe top!

What sandals have you been loving lately?

OOTD: PINK VELVET

Sunglasses: Primark | Top: Zara | Skirt: River Island | Belt: Charity Shop | Bag: Primark | Shoes: Topshop

Just a casual day, catching up with my friend now I'm home from Uni. As usual in England, its sunny out but still a bit chilly hence why I incorporated tights and a long sleeve top into the look. I love a grunge vibe within my outfits but I like to add 'girly' pieces into the combination just to lighten things up. The belt I managed to find in a local charity shop and I now wear it almost everyday!

THE 90's SLIP DRESS

Photos taken from tumblr.com

Fashion has headed back to the 90's (hoorah hoorah) and brought the slip dress back to us! I was scrolling through tumblr and found the images above that made me realise how much I love this style of dress. It is such a simple piece to have within your wardrobe yet can be transformed into so many different looks with the help of layering, accessories and so on. My favourite way to wear them is to layer a long sleeved top underneath with a belt around the waist, but the possibilities are endless!
Here are a few slip dresses that I have found in various stores that may take your fancy:
